It's a Surprise Party!!!

IT'S A SURPRISE PARTY!!! Grab a handful of confetti, a bright balloon and come along for a fun birthday blog hop to celebrate a special birthday for our dear friend, Christine Okken!  One thing about birthdays, is that you always hope to spend time with those you care about and that's why we're here!  At Flourishes, we're just one big family... so we just wanted to celebrate a wonderful day with one of our loved ones.

Even though we're a day early, we'd like to say...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRISTINE!

Join along with members of the Flourishes family today and share some fabulous birthday inspirations, many happy celebratory birthday wishes and maybe even a slice of cyber cake.

I've used two Flourishes sets for my card today - Garden Gate and Inside and Out Hello!  I've used a base of cream card and layered with teal card cut with Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles.  The next two layers have also been cut with Resplendent Rectangles using more cream and some subtle DP.  I've used my Silhouette Cameo and cut a piece of blending card using the Garden Gate Silhouette Cut File.  I've then stamped the floral image from Garden Gate in Memento Tuxedo Black (it's easier to do while the cut out is still on the Silhouette sticky mat) and then coloured it with Copic Markers using The Pistachio Collection, The Candy Pink Collection and The Sunflower Collection.  I've popped it up on foam tape and stamped the sentiment from Inside and Out Hello as shown.

Stamps - Garden Gate, Inside and Out Hello (Flourishes)
Paper - Blending Card, Cream, Teal, DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles, Foam Tape.

In honour of Christine's birthday celebration, we're giving away a special birthday present or two of our own!  Hidden among the Design Team's blogs today is a Mystery Blogger. Cupcake Toppers!

Hello Everyone!!  I recently make some fun Cupcake Toppers for the Copic Oz Blog with step by step pics on how I've coloured the ice-cream cones.  Around this time of year I always seem to be making cupcakes for some sort of party and some fabby toppers just squeal fun times don't you think??

For a quick and basic topper, try gathering these materials....

Or how about creating something more eye-catching by gathering these materials.....

Simply glue the layers together with a good strong glue (I use X-press It Clear Gel Glue) for each topper making sure that the sticks are glued between the layers for stability.  The construction is super easy and your toppers are sure to have your guests talking!

Stamps - Pinwheels and Popsicles (Flourishes)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Pink, White, Chocolate Chip
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Various Spellbinders Shapes, Toothpick, Popstick, X-press It Clear Gel Glue, Cupcakes!

That's all from me today, thanks for visiting and hope you are inspired to stamp.

Star of Bethlehem

Hello Everyone! I recently did a tutorial on the Flourishes Blog showing how I coloured this beautiful Star of Bethlehem image which is a new set by Flourishes LLC.  You can find all the colouring details HERE!

The card itself is pretty easy to create with a base of green bazzill layered with yellow and topped with white embossed with Spellbinders Dainty Dots Mbossibilities.  Down one side I've attached yellow and white ribbons.  The Star of Bethlehem image has been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with Copic markers.  I've cut it with Spellbinders Decorative Labels 28 Nestabilities and matted it with green cut with Spellbinders Labels 28 Nestabilities and popped it up on foam tape.  To finish I've added a bow to the ribbons and a few clear rhinestones to the corners.

Stamps - Star of Bethlehem (Flourishes)
Paper - Blending Card, Green, Yellow, White
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copic Markers, Labels 28 and Decorative Labels 28 Nestabilities, Yellow and White Ribbons, Bow Easy, Clear Rhinestones, Foam Tape.

That's all for today, thanks for visiting and hope you are inspired to stamp.

Hello Everyone!  It's the first Monday of the month and that means it's time for another journey around the globe with the Flourishes Beautiful World Team!  This month our lovely hostess is Dina and she has challenged us to go Monochrome!!  If you've landed here via Dina's Blog, then you are in the right place, if not, you can start the tour at the Flourishes Blog so you don't miss any of the beautiful inspiration along the way!

Of course, every month there is a chance to win a Flourishes Stamp Set of your choice!!  All you have to do is leave a comment on the designers' blogs before October 31st for your chance to win!  :)

I've chosen.....PINK!!!  :)  I've used a base of pink card, layered with White and some MME DP that I found deep in my stash.  Next I've created a square of DP and matted with more pink card and stamped the sentiment from Sweet Days of Summer in Memento Tuxedo Black and offset it on the card front.  Across this is another piece of pink, border punched and topped with more DP.  Across this is a pink of thin pink ribbon.  The image is also from Sweet Days of Summer and has been stamped in pink ink, cut with Large Circle Nestabilities and matted with pink card cut with Lacey Circle Nestabilities and popped up on foam tape.  To finish I've added a bow to the ribbon and a couple of snowflake pearls to the corner.

Stamps - Sweet Days of Summer (Flourishes)
Paper - Pink, White, MME Lavender DP
Ink - Pink, Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Iron Gate Border Punch, Pink Ribbon, Bow Easy, Foam Tape, Pearls.

Bundle of Joy!

Hello Everyone!  I hope you've enjoyed the JustRite Papercraft release week so far!  Today is the last day and we are introducing another gorgeous vintage baby set called Bundle of Joy Vintage Labels Five!  So many fun elements, images and sentiments to play with and out of all the cards I've made this week, I think this one is my favourite!  :)

I've used a base of Very Vanilla, layered with Calypso Coral and two pieces of Graphic 45 DP.  Across the join I've added some ivory lace and a piece of ivory pleated trim from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  Next I've added a paper doily and then stamped the pram image from Bundle of Joy Vintage Labels Five in Memento Rich Cocoa onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (E50, E51, E53, R00, R11, R12) and then fussy cut with scissors.  I've taken more Graphic 45 DP and matted with coral card and put in on an angle and then popped the pram image up on foam tape.  Next I've stamped the sentiment from Bundle of Joy in Rich Cocoa and created a notched tag and attached it to the bottom of the panel.  To finish I've added buttons, flowers, ribbon and die cuts to accent.

Special Delivery!

Hello Everyone!!  Welcome back to day five of the JustRite Papercraft October release!  Today we are showcasing a gorgeous, vintage inspired baby stamp set called Special Delivery!  This set was inspired by Sharon Johnson, one of the original members of the JustRite DT and now owner of the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store!  We are thrilled to have her joining us on the hop today!
I just adored this stork image and decided to make a baby boy card with it.  I've started with a base of Soft Sky, layered with Very Vanilla and two pieces of  Fab Scraps Baby Bear DP.  Across the join is a piece of Baja Breeze topped with a piece of ivory ribbon.  Next I've created a notched tag and stamped the sentiment from Special Delivery across the bottom and attached to the middle of the card.  The doily has been cut out of vanilla using Spellbinders Delicate Doily Dies.  The stork from Special Delivery has been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (BG000, BG10, BG11, BG13, E000, E01, E11, C1, C3, C5, C7, E40, E41, E42, Y21, Y26).  I've fussy cut the stork with my cutterbee scissors and a scalpel - yes, it took a while but I love the result!  I've popped it up on foam tape and added a few pearls to the top corners.

Stamps - Special Delivery (JustRite)
Paper - X-press It Blending Card, Soft Sky, Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla, Fab Scraps Baby Bear DP
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories - Copics, Spellbinders Delicate Doily Dies, Ivory Ribbon, Pearls, Foam Tape, Scissors, Scalpel.

Hello Everyone!  Have you been enjoying all the beautiful projects the JustRite team have created so far this week?  Well, we aren't done yet!!  Today the team are showcasing another two new sets - Rose Garden Background Cling Stamp and Ornate Corners Clear Set.

I've used Rose Garden Background Cling Stamp for my card as well as the new JustRite Papercraft Vintage Labels Six Dies that were introduced on Tuesday!  I have to admit, this is not normally a colour I would reach for, but I liked how it turned out!  :)
